2015 AP EXAM SCHEDULE
STARTING WEEK 1 MONDAY, MAY 4, 2015 AT 8 A.M.
Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year. Please read message from our Principal, Dr. House!
Welcome back to another year of EXCELLENCE. We hope you enjoyed your family and took advantage of the great weather. The school year has officially begun and greatness is ahead.
Thank you for continued support and commitment. We are tirelessly working to ensure that your student is nurtured and receives a world class education. Our goal is to prepare students for their post-secondary goals and dreams.
This is not an easy task but as a “team” this is possible. All students are expected to be a part of the 100% Attendance Club and a Principal’s Scholar. We are confident that this is possible. Please remind your student of their potential and we will continue to help them develop their gifts.
Students must arrive to school ready to learn and think critically. They must continue learning beyond their school day. Learning continues throughout the entire day. Routinely review their notebooks and establish homework tables for your student. Importantly, begin communicating with their teachers immediately.
Parent Portal is one way of managing students’ progress. However, face to face contact has such great value. Visit the main office to retrieve your access code and password. The Student Support Team is a great resource and they are here to guide you and your student through the process. Always know how your student is progressing. Is your student GREEN, YELLOW, or RED? A GREEN student is an on-track student. Feel free to contact your student’s assigned Student Support Person to schedule a status meeting. We address the needs of the “WHOLE” student.
9th Grade: Mrs. Levin
10th Grade: Dr. Beasley
11th Grade: Ms. Baker and Mr. Kirkwood
12th Grade: Mr. Williams
Students must understand that we are ALL here for them and working as a “unit”. The expectation for students is great but the reward is even greater. As the district shifts to utilizing Common Core State Standards we are working to provide teachers with the level of support and training to implement rigorous instruction. In turn, students must be open to the challenge. Wolverines are strong and we know that with the appropriate training and assistance they will meet all goals and challenges.
Your presence and level of engagement ensures our continued success. Please join us every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. for our monthly Local School Council Meeting and every 2nd Saturday of the month at 10:00 for our Parent Advisory Council Meeting. Both meetings are held at our school. WE NEED YOU AND APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU DO.
Thank you in advance for an awesome year. Please share your concerns so we can better serve your student.
